̽»¨¾«Ñ¡ CMLS Intern Society’s Bloodletting Drive yields 41 lifesaving units at Alumni Promenade Concert Park.
On February 12, 2024, with compassion flowing as freely as the blood donated, students, friends, and relatives came together for this year’s, ‘You’re My Type’ Give Love, Give Blood, held at Alumni Promenade Concert Park.
The event was organized by the ̽»¨¾«Ñ¡ CMLS Interns Organization in partnership with ̽»¨¾«Ñ¡ (̽»¨¾«Ñ¡), ̽»¨¾«Ñ¡ CMLS Provincial Student Council, ̽»¨¾«Ñ¡ Medical Laboratory Science Society, ̽»¨¾«Ñ¡ Medical Technology Alumni Association, and Western Visayas Medical Center BloodBank. The event aimed to promote volunteerism and altruism in the community, support healthcare needs, the importance of blood donation, and how it can save lives.
Dr. Ma. Corazon Perucho-Porras, Dean of the College of Medical and Laboratory Science, emphasizes in her speech that blood donation not only aids those in urgent need but also promotes community awareness about blood health and the importance of voluntary donation.
Medtech interns played an important role in assisting donors in screening and interviewing them for a history questionnaire with the help of Western Visayas Medical Center Bloodbank. For them, it was a lesson in compassion, helpfulness, and social responsibility.
The event successfully collected 41 units of blood; each bag has the potential to save up to 3 lives. The overwhelming participation from the ̽»¨¾«Ñ¡ community reflected the institution’s strong culture of volunteerism and selflessness.
The ̽»¨¾«Ñ¡ CMLS Intern Organization extends its gratitude to all the donors, volunteers, and partner organizations who made this event possible. Their generosity and commitment ensured that hope continued to flow for those in need.
