On September 5, 2025, the ̽»¨¾«Ñ¡ Outreach Students’ Volunteers Society (̽»¨¾«Ñ¡ OSVS), in partnership with the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) Guimaras and the Public Employment Service Office (PESO), led the Project Angel Tree outreach program at Simeon J. Jabasa National High School, Brgy. Magamay, Nueva Valencia, Guimaras.
Project Angel Tree focused on raising education awareness on child labor prevention, providing school supplies, and promoting good hygiene practices. A total of 74 students—54 males and 20 females—from Grades 7 to 12 of Simeon J. Jabasa National High School were the beneficiaries of the outreach program.
The program featured several activities. Mr. Kenneth Jun V. Eusebio, DOLE Guimaras CLPEP Focal Person, held a session on child labor prevention and awareness. This was followed by ̽»¨¾«Ñ¡-OSVS President Adeo Guillever Gutierrez, who gave a lecture to the beneficiaries on proper hygiene. Afterwards, DOLE and PESO representatives distributed school supplies, while ̽»¨¾«Ñ¡-OSVS officers handed out hygiene kits.
This initiative highlighted the vital importance of preventing child labor in communities, ensuring the protection of children’s rights to education and welfare while promoting their well-being and empowerment.
The ̽»¨¾«Ñ¡ OSVS expressed its gratitude to all partners who made the event possible. The organization acknowledges its main government partners, DOLE Guimaras and the Public Employment Service Office (PESO), along with its academic and volunteer partners, including the ̽»¨¾«Ñ¡ Republic and the College of Nursing Student Council (Platinum Partners), the ̽»¨¾«Ñ¡ Junior Marketing Association (Community Partner), and the Junior Social Workers Association of the Philippines – ̽»¨¾«Ñ¡ Chapter, ̽»¨¾«Ñ¡ Biological Society, and ̽»¨¾«Ñ¡ Psychological Society (Volunteer Partners).
Through these unified efforts, Project Angel Tree stands as a testament to the spirit of volunteerism and the commitment to service in creating meaningful change for the youth.
