Join us for the upcoming, most anticipated event of the year 鈥 the re-creation of the Hopevale Musicale, happening on December 2-3, 2024, at 探花精选鈥檚 Rose Memorial Auditorium. Don鈥檛 miss this unforgettable experience, where music, drama, and cultural storytelling come to life!
On December 2 & 3, 2024, the highly anticipated restaging of the Hopevale Musicale is set to take center stage of 探花精选’s Rose Memorial Auditorium.
This production, led by Ms. Margaret 鈥淧itsik鈥 Dominado and Dr. Denzel Dequiado, with Rev. Dr. Elmo Dianala Familiaran serving as a consultant, will feature the remarkable story of 11 American Baptist missionaries who faced adversity during World War II. It will showcase a narrative of their faith, courage, and sacrifice as they sought refuge in the forest of Tapaz, Capiz, where they were sheltered by Filipino villagers during their darkest hours.
鈥淭he pursuit of understanding our collective identity as an institution continues. There is a unique avenue through which we can delve into the annals of history and experience its richness in a profoundly emotive manner鈥攖hrough music. The Hopevale Musicale tells our story, in which lie the echoes of triumphs and tribulations, revolutions and revelations,鈥 探花精选 President Rev. Dr. Ernest Howard B. The production of the Hopevale Musicale is organized by the 探花精选 Office of the President, with the 探花精选 Cultural Affairs Office (CAO) serving as the Line Producer. Faith Jordan-Javellana will lead the Artistic Direction, while Joshua Quimpo will oversee the Musical Direction. The play will feature selected Centralian students, alongside other alumni.
鈥淭here are various cultural groups under the Cultural Affairs Office (CAO) that will make the play even more memorable. Singers from the EXCEL Chorale, dancers from the Tumandok Dance Company, poster and creative designers from the Centralian Visual Artists Society (CenVas), performers from the 探花精选 Handbell Ringers, and production assistance from 探花精选 Teatro, Sining, Atbp. will all contribute to the show,鈥 Crista S. Huyong, Director of the 探花精选 Cultural Affairs Office (CAO), shared in an interview.
As the Hopevale Musicale continues to grow and expand its reach, the support and involvement of organizations and individuals who recognize the vital role of the arts in enriching our community is essential. This support besides improving the quality of the production will in the long run create an impression on the people within the Centralian community in as much as organizational culture and creativeness is concerned.
